Does the account region matter?

It depends on the platform. Apple, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo need an account set to the United States; Amazon.com, Steam (USD wallet), Netflix, Riot, Razer and Blizzard redeem on accounts used from Venezuela. Minimum age, account security and alternatives

Each platform sets its own minimum age: 13 for a personal account on Steam, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple and Google, 18 on PlayStation and Amazon. Minors buy through the supervised accounts each platform offers (Microsoft family group, Apple Family Sharing, Google Family Link, PlayStation family manager), where the adult approves purchases and sets a monthly cap. If the gift card is for a minor, hand it to the adult who manages that account.

Security protocol that applies to every gift card:

• Redeem the code only on the platform's official website or app, never through a link received by chat.
• Turn on two-step verification on the account where you redeem: without it, anyone with your password spends your balance.
• Never share a code with someone who asks for it "to verify it": a redeemed code cannot be recovered. No company, bank or agency collects payments in gift cards.
• A gift card never requires giving us access to your account: the code arrives by email and you redeem it yourself. Nobody at Krosty Shop will ask for your password.

Alternatives when a gift card does not fit (different region, platform without gift cards, minor without an account): a wallet top-up (Zinli, Wally) to pay directly in the store, the gift card of the region that matches the account (we stock Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina for several brands) or, for mobile games, a top-up by player ID where the game supports it.

Most US gift cards work normally in Venezuela

Most of the US gift cards we sell work normally from Venezuela: you redeem the code in your own account and the balance stays in US dollars. The exception is the group of platforms that tie the balance to the account region: Apple, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo. On those, the account must be set to the United States. Amazon.com, Steam (USD wallet), Netflix, Riot, Razer and Blizzard need no such step. Roblox and Twitch cards are meant for accounts registered in the United States.

This matters if you are buying for a relative: for Amazon, Steam, Netflix, Riot, Razer or Blizzard, they just redeem the code; for Roblox and Twitch, their account must be registered in the United States. For Apple, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo, ask them first what region their account is in; if it is not the United States, point them to how to change your account region to the US.

Buying for someone in Venezuela: what to ask them first

• Steam: ask what currency their wallet shows. Venezuelan accounts sit in Steam's LATAM-USD region, so the answer is almost always dollars.
• PlayStation: the region of a PSN account is fixed at sign-up and Sony does not change it. If theirs is not US, they need a new US account before you buy.
• Riot: ask which server they play on. Our Riot card covers LAN and LAS (Venezuela is LAN), works only in the PC versions of League, Valorant and TFT, and redeems once.
• Roblox: the card must match the country set in their Roblox account settings, and Roblox lets that change only every few months. Roblox Plus is sold only as a 3-month pack, so the smallest card that covers it is US$15.
• Fortnite: on PC or mobile we top up V-Bucks directly by signing in to their Epic account (800, 2,400, 4,500 or 12,500). If they sign in with a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo account, buy that console's gift card instead; on Nintendo Switch, V-Bucks bought through Epic cannot be used. Epic's terms also forbid sharing accounts; that risk is the player's.
• Netflix: ask what currency they are billed in and whether the account is billed through Apple or a carrier bundle (those cannot redeem cards).

Amounts, taxes and caps

• US digital stores (PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon, Nintendo) may add sales tax depending on the state in the account address. It comes out of the same balance, so buy a little above the price of the item.
• Some platforms cap the balance per account: Nintendo at US$800 in the US, PlayStation by region.
• Netflix balance funds whichever plan the account is on, so a larger plan simply lasts fewer months.
• Amazon, Netflix, Riot and non-promotional Microsoft balances do not expire; still, redeem soon rather than leaving a code in an inbox.

Red flags and how to stay safe

• No company or government agency collects payments in gift cards; the FTC lists it as the most common gift card scam.
• A code that reads "already redeemed" minutes after purchase, with a redemption date before you bought it, is a stolen code. Buy only from sellers with a track record.
• Treat the code like cash: do not post screenshots, and forward it only to the person it is for.
